Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Students have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for them, namely a provision that is different or additional to that which is normally available for students of the same age.
Students have SEND if they:
- Have a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of students of the same age.
- Have a disability, which prevents or hinders them from making use of educational facilities provided for children of the same age.
Students may experience SEND for a short time or for the whole of their school life. Please see the documentation below.
