16 to 19 Tuition Fund

The purpose of this statement is to set out how Holly Lodge High School is planning to utilise its 16 to 19 tuition fund allocation to support students who may have had their learning disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government introduced the 16 to 19 tuition fund which is a £96 million one-off funding for the 2020 to 2021 academic year only. It is ring fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 providers to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).

Our share of this funding is £3,721.

The guidance related to the fund means that:

  • Learners who do not have 5-9 passes in either or both English and Maths GCSE at the end of KS4 can be supported by this fund.
  • The Fund is not limited to supporting GCSE Maths and English but can be for any aim in the learner’s programme of study.
  • In addition SEND students will be considered where they have experiences additional disruption to learning as a result of their specific needs and disabilities.
  • he need for support will be determined and agreed between the eligible learners and staff, following an individual needs assessment.
  • Typically support will be in the form of small group tuition over and above the teaching timetabled for that subject.
  • This support will be delivered during the 2020 / 2021 academic year with any unspent money reclaimed by the ESFA.

Life in the Sixth Form

Life in the Sixth Form is a pleasant and enriching experience,it provides both a challenging and stimulating environment. High standards are set for achievement and progress,additionally academic progress is monitored and reviewed. The Sixth Form staff are well qualified and offer a high degree of expertise,professionalism and commitment to their courses. In addition, the school is very well resourced with specialist rooms and facilities.
